For my very last term project, called a Major Project, I was tasked with identifying a problem within the world that could benefit from design. I had spent the term before researching sustainable living within urban populations, so I wanted to continue the findings of that project into this one. I created a publication for 7-12 year old kids living in urban and suburban parts of Ireland, the publication offers relevant information concerning gardening and nature-themed DIYs and gardening ideas, the goal is to provide kids with a book full of things that get them involved in the natural world around them. The project follows an urban movement called Guerrilla Gardening, which challenges inner city notions of property by promoting the use of privately owned but abandoned land for gardening that impacts the community, the greenification of concrete jungles directly benefits the health of the community and its people.

This was the largest project I have ever done, and it took about 3 months of primary and secondary research as well as 3 more months of visual design research, pushing my experience with typesetting and illustration. This project was pivotal in gaining a better understanding of what goes into producing books like this and how many moving parts make up one design.
